This past week I've been focusing on completing the upper level.  I did away with the city look and I'm trying to make the scene a little more rural and realistic. I decided on a scene from the anthracite coal region of PA. The plan is to keep it simple, three weaver row houses and a station scene. I am using 2" blue insulation foam for a base. I carved a road on the foam using a hot foam knife.  Behind these houses will be a hillside with trees. I still have a lot of work to do but its been fun.  Here is a few pictures of the project.

When you get to the point of starting your ground cover you may want to consider trying Fusion Fiber. You scene looks like it would suit itself very nicely to its usage. I love the stuff. Once the basic shape/form is roughed in the Fusion Fiber allows you to finish the actual groundwork and add ground cover all in the same step. Just a thought I felt worth sharing. Keep up the awsome work.

Your right about the Fusion fiber! It works great for those applications. As of matter of fact, I did that last night.  I then sprayed it with a flat brown spray paint. I wasn't sure whether or not it was going to adhere to the foam but it worked just fine. I will post more picture as the project moves along.

George, It sounds like you are missing one of the great benefits of Fusion Fiber, that is mixing the paint in when you mix the batch.  This allows you to add your ground covers immediately after troweling on the Fusion Fiber = done in one step.  This way it also allows you to go back at any time, rewet and add additional ground cover.
