Just got back home, unpacked and had dinner with Linda. Thanks to those who stopped by to see me in aisle DD. I'll be back to York in the fall with a few new items
Here's the speech if you were not able to stop by. I am producing series' of buildings in limited runs. The first series consists of six elevations and has/will be produced in fronts, shadow box (1" deep) and built-out buildings (6" deep) format. The production counts for the finished elevations are 5 fronts, 10 shadow boxes and 5 built-out buildings for all all but the 8" x 12" elevation, which will be produced to 5, 5 and 3 respectively.
The series is designed to have a left (S1-1) and right (S1-6) end building and then there are four interior buildings (S1-2 to 5). The interior buildings can be put in any order that you like and future buildings will work likewise.
All parts are fabricated (laser cut and scored) in the shop. Finishes are a combination are airbrush and "rattle cans" to achieve appropriate color texturing on the brick. Provision is made in the shadow boxes for installation of LED lighting. It was decided at York that the built-out buildings will be supplied with lighting.
At York I had 4 of the 6 buildings available for purchase in shadow box format. 7 sets sold and an extra of Building S1-5 sold, so there are 2 full sets of four shadow boxes still available. The price is $130 for the four, plus I throw in a smaller York sample that was sold for $15 each.
A pre-production sample of the 8" x 12" building was shown and I'm glad that I didn't run the lot as there were some great suggestions on how to improve it. However, 3 of the 5 that will be made in shadow box format were reserved.
Photos come in the next post.
