Progressing on my 3x13 extension representing southern Ontario. This is the former Canadian National bridge in Port Colborne. Canal is rippled glass on green plywood ( George Pandelios idea). Backdrop will hide garage door , JohnA

Loved that bridge. Many years ago I stopped in Port Colborne to watch the action as it opened and closed.
I still have video from that visit -- somewhere. I need to retrieve it and digitize it. As I recall the mechanical movement, crossing gate bells, and warning klaxon would all make for great sound effects on a layout when coupled with a suitable scale model, like yours.

Mike- I hadn’t thought of sound effects, that would be great. But, this model is non-operational. This bridge was removed in the early 90s, but a twin highway bridge is still there (Clarence St. Bridge). If you ever find that video, please post it- would love to see it. JohnA
Being from Buffalo, NY and a sailor who uses/visits the Welland Canal, I am really looking forward to progress photos. Thanks for doing this.
Bill- the plan is to take a picture of my model, bridge 20, and paste it on the backdrop for the nearby twin bridge 21 (Clarence St.). Backdrop will show canal leading out to Lake Erie. JohnA
