Hi Monk

Two Phones MTH DCE WIFi

I am using two Android Phones, the one on the left is a phone that has been turned off by the phone company, but they still work.  The one on the right is my every day Android phone.

The Android phone that is running a Lionel TMCC, has a different look to each screen, when compared to MTH / RailKing.  The MTH locos get the name for each loco from the TIU, on the other hand you have to type in the name of the loco with the keyboard on the smart phone, for each Lionel loco.  I have also noticed that you have to re-type the Lionel locos and the MTH / RailKing name will stay at the top of the screen for each loco.

Here are the links:  Android   Note: I have left a comment at the Google Play Store.

Apple / iTune Store / I may move to a iPhone or iPad.

If you need help, feel free to hit me up with an e-mail.

Hope this helps: Gary

No, that's not correct. You only have to key in TMCC or Legacy engine names once. After being entered, the name remains until the engine is deleted from the app.

Hi Barry - I stand corrected, all the TMCC are still on the inactive list.  I just ran two of them about five minutes ago, added them to the active list. "No Chaos"

Thanks for the tip.

Gary

This "trapped on the inactive list" issue has come up frequently. I too fell into the trap, believing TMCC / Legacy locos had to be deleted and re-entered over and over. The process of moving locos to the active list does not appear to be well documented by MTH. In fact, I didn't even realize it could be done until I saw one of Barry's posts. It is easy to forget that Lionel locos can't be read automatically.

Hi Greg R..

Thanks for the information.

" It is easy to forget that Lionel locos can't be read automatically."

As an end user, my MTH DCS Handheld reads all the TMCC locos, if this information is saved in the TIU, I sure hope this can be fixed on the first up grade of the Wi-Fi Interface and APP's

If they can not, we will need to keep the Handheld Controller to program any used TMCC, locos that I may purchase, but maybe MTH has a plan "B".

Gary: Still learning about MTH DCS Wi-Fi

That's also incorrect.

A DCS Remote READ command always moves each and every TMCC and Legacy engine directly to the Inactive Engine list, regardless of whether or not they're on powered tracks.
