New York, New Haven & Hartford?

How about a picture? There was only one New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad! All the equipment you mention would be appropriate. But, freight trains generally consisted of boxcars of many railroads. So, you don't have to have just New Haven freight cars in the train.

They're not separate railroads; New Haven was just a shorter nickname for the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad. Like how the Atchinson, Topeka and Santa Fe was often just called Santa Fe, or how the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad was just called the Milwaukee Road. Pretty long names, haha!

These two units are the only two NYNH&H in my collection...if i had it do over again, I would have gone heavy to NH and less to other lines.  There's a special connection for me with NH...my grandfather spend 40 years with them...we took many a train ride on his "golden pass!"

That’s amazing about your Grandfather. Also, from the look of things, that caboose looks like a non stop party. 🤩
