No. 022 controller

I've had this happen. It usually means the wire from the controller are incorrectly wire to the switch.  Be sure that the center wire from the controller is on the center terminal of the switch.

You need controller 1122C.  022C controllers will not operate 027 switches properly.

Normal operation with this combination.

Thanks to everyone who responded . I will recheck my wiring to make sure  center lead goes to both the switch and controler.

Thanks for your reply. I cannot find 1112c controller you said I need to make this work. Is this number correct???

The bulbs draw enough current through the switch machine coils to illuminate. If the resistance is too low, it will cause the swivel rail to creep(throwing the lever on the controller brings the resistance down to zero, throwing the switch).

It will. There was a special version of this controller packaged with 1122L & 1121R individual switches in the 1960's, they had no bulb sockets at all.

Yes they will. Just omit the bulbs or use GE53 or 53-300 type bulbs instead of the GE431/431-300 bulbs used in the 1121c or 28-6/408-45 used in the 022.
