In case anyone is interested in replacing their old record playing mechanism with a new solid state playback, JLM trains have them back again along with repo parts.

Interesting, I have one of these stations sitting in a storage box, was thinking of selling it but maybe I'll get one of those and try to find a place for it on my layout someday.
I tried one of the digital sound devices a few years ago. It was easy enough to install, but the sound was not loud enough. I tried removing the plastic cover on the speaker with a razor blade, and also building a baffle but it just didn't seem to help. Maybe I just got a bad one. It also ate through button batteries very quickly. You can hook it up to a low-voltage source or a larger battery supply though.
So I rebuilt the record player and it's nice and loud now. It's actually much louder than it seems in the video. I also love the old sound of the record.

That was great train nut. It almost sounded like the real thing. Couldn't understand one word he said. LOL

I had emailed them at the end of December and they replied with check back the End of Jan 20222
