Just recieved a P3 MTH Norfolk Southern SD-50.  Nice engine, but I believe it has a couple of issues.  First issue is probably an easy fix.  I run DCS, and when I release the rear coupler, the front one releases instead.  I believe this is just a matter of switching the coupler plugs on the circuit board.  The second issue is that the marker lights are red in the front and green in the rear.  Every other diesel I own, including an old N/S SD-80, is the opposite setup.  Does anyone else have this engine, and is it setup the same way?  Is it actually prototypical for N/S?  I also have a P3 Reading & Northern SD-50(ditch lights instead of marker lights) that has awnings over the cab side windows.  The N/S cab windows have no awnings.  Again, is this prototypical or just something that was missed in production?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Many foamers think that little letter "F" indicates where you should take the "foto" from!

I figured you guys were going to break my cookies a bit!  Oh well, I can take it.  I work in the maintenance department of a large plant with some pros in the cookie busting field. The good news is that I have it facing the right way and it's looking good and running well.  In my defense, like JHFVA, most of the pictures I found of N/S SD-50's were cab forward, which leads me to another question.  Other then crash safety, are there any other reasons why they would chose to run this way?  Thanks again for the help!

Norfolk & Western and Southern Ry. Ran their engines long hood forward first long after other railroads changed to low short hoods running first. The illustration shows the reason. Locomotives set up for long hoods first usually have high short hoods. N&W and later NS acquired many engines from mergers (i.e. Wabash) setup for short hood first operation.
