Was digging through my archives, came across a series of small layouts I had designed a while back (7+ years to ~3 years ago), thought that some peeps might be interested in seeing them, based on some of the track plan discussion I have been seeing of late.

This batch was from when I was planning my current layout, but at some point I thought it would be in the house instead of the attic... Didn't end up using any of the plans, but the last one developed far enough that I drew a concept sketch to get an idea as to how it would look.

These were just bored busywork, but we're still pretty decent 4'x8' or so plans for running toy trains.

This plan was originally a rough sketch for a Pittsburgh area layout, but the demand of 072 or larger curves for the given dimensions, as well as decent operation, resulted in it never being fleshed out into a true track plan.

Very nice.  Drawing track plan options is the way to go to get a great plan and be sure it fits your space or board.

For a double loop like the first plan you might try a 5ft x 9ft ping pong size table to have a little more space.  Also you may want to add a transition set of switches to allow trains to go between loops.

Some of your plans are similar to my layout with the center being a figure 8 and loop to allow train reversing.  I love mine like that.  I also have a L shaped table.

You might click on my handle above and see some of my posts with diagrams of my layout control panel for my 30 year plus layout I am very happy with are I would have rebuilt it.  I have a continuing running post titled "Evolution of an Action Packed 50s Era 027 Layout".
