What is a good source for O scale chickens to populate a chicken coop and a barn yard?
Thank you.

I have both the Woodland Scenics and Berkshire Valley. The Woodland Scenics come complete and have bases. The Berkshire Valley ones do not have bases (so therefore look more realistic). They do need to be painted however.
Some pics to view.
Have Fun!

Now that you can have O scale chickens, how about some O scale eggs.....LOL

I'd be afraid of the killer mice...again.
Next to the barn, partially pictured in photo 1, I had a corn crib. In an old run of OGR there was a fella who took rice, painted it yellow, mixed in a glue solution and poured it in the crib. So I did that.
A few days later I went down to the layout and it looked like a twister came through the farm. All of the animals were dead and lying on their sides. And all of the "corn" was gone.
The mice ate painted, glued rice??? Never found a dead mouse either.
I have not replaced the corn crib.

Thank you all for your kind leads. This forum has never failed me. Several years ago I asked the forum participants where I could get an O scale moose. In ten minutes, my search was over. Bravo guys.
Happy New Year
I can't look at a chicken in the grocery store or on this forum without two instantaneous reactions. One, the odor of live chickens in a coop.
Second, spending a day in a poultry processing plant in south Georgia in the summer many years ago, but feels like yesterday.
Consequently, there has never been a chicken on any previous layouts, and none currently planned.
Very nicely executed scenes above; just not something I'll dwell on.
You think O-scale chickens are scarce, I couldn't find any chickens at all in N-scale. So I ended up making my own.
In retrospect, although they look pretty good, they're probably closer to HO scale than N-scale.
I think I'll do ostrich farming from now on in N-scale, and leave the chicken farming for O-scale.
