When the Menards Arby's was announced, I mentioned in the thread that I was considering picking one up to turn into a Chick Fil A. Well, this Christmas under the tree there was a Menards Arby's under the tree perfect for the conversion. Nothing fancy just made up some Chick Fil A logos and posters in Microsoft Word, printed it out, and glued it onto the Arby's. Knowing my luck, Menards will announce an actual Chick Fil A next week but regardless still pretty neat in my opinion.

Below are pictures of the converted building as well as a video I made detailing the customization.

That looks much better as a "Chick Fil A."  But I am very prejudice since Arby's was founded in my hometown in the original "Arby's" building!!!

The bus in the backround, what is the source? I am looking for a more modern 1/48 bus(es) for a transit-based trolley layout. Corgi is too small at 1/50 and most others are too large at 1/43. TIA.

It is just a toy that I got at a tourist trap gift shop in DC. That same company makes NYC buses too, not sure about other cities. They are 1/48th scale which is why I purchased mine.

Hey RJ,

Nice video. Did you throw the Arby's signs away?

Dave

Nope I saved them, just in case

Very cool RJ - are you willing to share the word doc with the Chick fil A signs?

Hopefully this works for ya. Nothing fancy, see attachments.

How cute. Are you going to create a full layout traffic jam fouling both the rail roads and streets as well? Nick

I guess I am going to have to, haha. Hopefully, nobody complains to the city government about the traffic.

RJ, you mention you don't have the best printer in the video, but it's probably not the printer. Suggestion for future projects: It looks like the red Chik-fil-A signs are printed on an Inkjet printer with plain paper, so next time invest in some Photo Paper like HP or Canon, for the best quality. Then when you print it out, in the print menu select the type of photo paper and Best Quality. The red will be much sharper and have a semi glossy finish. Nice job though, very clever. And like you, Arby's are hard to find where I am too, but Chik-fil-A is everywhere now. Like Rockstars1989 says, add the drive through traffic jam. LoL So true!
