I am looking for lit traffic lights on a single pole for my town and have looked everywhere and cannot find them. I am not interested in the MTH ones on the overhead curved "galvanized" poles. I have attached a picture from the Lionel website in the style I am looking for but for some odd reason they only sell them for HO.  Can someone point me in the right direction? I need a bunch of them.

Thanks!

John

John,

I got mine from a company called Miniature Traffic Lights in Connellsville, PA.  The man's name is Greg Leonard.  I'm not sure his website it up, but email is:  gacji@zoominternet.net

He builds single pole lights (if I recall) as well as directional traffic lights for intersections.  Worth a try.

you can modify the MTH traffic lights for a straight pole, without too much trouble:

DSCN0685

Open the back of the light and desolder the wires.  Pull out the tube from the side. Slide the wires out of the tube.  Using a fine saw, cut the tube so just the straight section is left. Drill a new hole into the bottom of the light, slip in the wires and resolder them to the circuit board.

Fair warning, I am writing these instructions from memory (this was 17 years ago) so I may have got a few steps wrong.  But they should be close enough

The Wehonest ones are great!  I purchased several from them as well as their traffic light controller which gives you realistic timing and control of all the lights.  I wired them up in test thus far but will be building them into my city model.  They look very realistic as well.  I would recommend them for their affordability yet solid quality construction.

Agree! Here are mine in action.

I am getting ready to order a bunch of stuff along with the traffic lights from we honest. Can anyone who has bought from the before comment on the potential shipping time? Just curious what I am in for....

I live in Canada but I would guess shipping times would be similar, maybe faster, to the US. I have ordered several times from WeHonest and the average shipping time would be 3 weeks, give or take.

I might add that on one order there was a problem with the crossing signal controller - I could not get it to work. The vendor replied to my question within hours with some suggestions on wiring. It still did not work, so he replaced it immediately, no questions asked. The new board worked perfectly and still does, many months later.

I will order from them again. The shipping time is worth the wait.
