I'm putting together a 4x6 layout for my grand-daughter using an old Lionel 2-4-0 #8902 locomotive which runs on DC.  I purchased some remote controlled O27 switches (6-5121 & 6-5122).  I assume that the switch motors need AC power,  but can't figure out how to wire them.  Can they receive power from the accessory hook up on the DC transformer.  The man at the Hobby Shop I visit most frequently told me to use the taps on the switch to receive power from the accessory hook ups on the transformer, and to hook up the control to the same hook ups.  Nothing I've read suggests that it's this simple!, and I don't want to burn up my switch motors.  For now she's running the switches manually (the anti-derailing function is working fine), but I'd like to hook up the remote control for her.

Also, any suggestions as to how to add a little weight to the #8902?
