Finally getting back to some modeling.  Working on the Antonito Station which is made from very large black basalt blocks.  Using my CNC machine to produce the parts and getting that look has been a challenge.  Here's where I'm at so far.  I think I'm close.  The material is called sintra, a pvc plastic.  After routing I did a simple wipe on of wall Spackle and then a wipe off.  Still needs weathering etc.  Russ

Suggestion, the station is O Scale 1:48 (1/4 inch to the ft), regardless of the track gauge which in this case is approximately 30 inches.     The station would stay the same size if the track gauge were 36 inches or 4 ft 8 1/2 inches.

Yeah, I had the same reaction and this is a common thing you see online anymore, but I didn't bring it up.

I referenced the structure as ON30 so as to not be confused with 2 rail, 3 rail, tinplate, etc.   It is truly 1/48 scale.  The basalt blocks on the original building are much larger than o scale bricks.  Reference the size of the basalt blocks compared to the man door.  5 blocks for a 6 1/2 foot door.  The blocks are very big.  More than 1/4 inch (1/4 inch to the foot), compared to 1/16 inch scale brick (3 inch norm).  Russ

I have done O scale brick work in the past, the Antonito station is different.  IE here is the brick oil house at Chama, and a brick roundhouse I have done.
