Operating oil pump noise | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Ipurchased a cornerstone operating oil pump . When it runs it is very noisy.

Is this normal? If it is any ideas how to lessen the noise?

My oil pump is also noisy. I found that if I run my locomotives with the volume turned all the way up, I can't hear it. Problem solved. (I also use this tactic when my vehicle makes unusual noises. Just turn the radio up!) All kidding aside, I think you are supposed to luibricate the mechanism every once in a while. I think this helps somewhat.

Tom today I ran the oil pump with the trains running and I could not hear the pump. as you said problem solved.
