Wanted to get some feedback on the following:
Anyone use a strong magnet instead of an uncoupler?
Want to maybe replace the existing uncoupler after a Coal Tipple in a Hump Yard. This way when the car advances thru the Coal Tipple, it will automatically release without having to make sure the plate and Uncoupler are exactically lined up...
I will be working on re-wiring an existing set of switches that control the Coal Tipple Rotation and the Car Advance. I will be adding a parallel connection to both switches and get them closer to the actual accessory. Now here is the twist I was thinking about and want any positive or negative thoughts regarding this additional switch, since I will be in the wiring mode anyway....
To have the Coal Tipple Interactive for Shows, I was thinking about running a switch for a visitor to press to operate the Coal Tipple Rotation. For safety, that switch would have another switch wired in series with the Visitor Operation Switch that would have to be held closed by a club member operating the unit before the Visitor Switch would function. This would keep the Visitor Switch from being thrown when the car was not aligned properly in the Coal Tipple, thereby providing a measure of safety for the Accessory but add the Interaction of a Visitor at the show.
Your thoughts?
