Does anyone using this chemical for aging/weathering, know if it can be re-used and returned to the original bottle or discarded after one session of weathering? If re-usable, does it need to be strained first?
If you referring to ferric chloride, it is resusable. I return used stuff to another bottle. It gradually becomes less effective as the brass or copper collects. can't say I have used for weathering though. It will oxidize brass and copper if you rinse it off and don't remove the oxide with abrasives.
Yes it's Ferric Acid Etchant. I use it for aging corrugated roofing on my models. I will save the unused solution in another bottle. Good idea. This won't contaminate the fresh stuff.
