Anyone out there who owns and OPERATES the MTH model or did own and OPERATED one of these engines - will you please comment as to their reliability, performance, pulling power, overall sound quality, possible wheel slippage or any other useful information about them. I have not been able to find any such info or reviews. My THANKS in ADVANCE!

Here is a youtube video of this model"
Wow, giant train room, looks great!
Yes I have and run this engine. I bought the mail express version and added the 5 car passenger set for a 9 car train. The engine runs excellently, has great sound and has been very reliable. I would recommend one to any Pennsy fan.

Looks suspiciously like the Milwaukee hi-railers club. My apologies if I have the name wrong, but that giant hell-gate gives it away.
I actually owned two of earlier versions of this loco (the PS-1 version) They were both absolutely awesome! Had to sell them because of lack of space to run them on my permanent layout. But it hurt to sell them in both cases, it really did.
Thank you: TEXASSP – for the video of the T-1 in action. It made my mind up on appearances as it was the first “as delivered” version of the version I want - before removal of the skirting and “Buick” holes.
My thanks to: RLAHAIE – for your comments. They were exactly what I needed to hear from someone operating this model – very helpful in my decision making process.
Thank you: BOB SEVERIN - for your comments on the PS-1 version. I am sure all but different electronics were carried forward to the model I am considering – MTH does not completely re-invent their re-issues.
Again, thank all of you for taking the time to assist me in this purchase.
The T1 is such a wonderful and unique locomotive, this may just be the first of several you will eventually acquire...

C.SAM: Thank you for your comments. I am being very careful in purchasing these days as I have been buying since 1970 and am now about out of space.

Yeah, a "Later Version" (my favorite) by Lionel will be a must-have, then a brass one (Weaver or Williams) will begin to look intriguing (brass is hard to not like), then the old R-O-W funky articulated (wrong but clever) one shows up occasionally...T-1's are addictive, even to a NYC fan like me. They look like they came from Mars.
