Does anyone know why on my New MTH Blue Goose the Passenger/Train Announcements say "Train 23, The Grand Canyon" I tried looking up the history of the Blue Goose but didn't find any reference to it being called the Grand Canyon.
The 3460 (Blue Goose) was initially used mostly on the Chief but soon began pulling various trains between La Junta and Chicago. One of the trains it sometimes pulled was Nos. 24 and 23, the Grand Canyon. There was never a Santa Fe train named the Blue Goose. That was just a nickname applied to the engine by some people.
