Phasing a zw with a CW-40 from a new train set | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hello All,

New member here. I’m not new to model railroading, but I am new to Lionel and O gauge. I’ve searched and searched but cannot find info regarding phasing a ZW and a CW-40 transformer. When I connect my meter between the 2 no matter what combination of terminals I touch with the meter probes I get nothing. I’ve read many forum post on phasing and seen the Lionel video, so I think I’m testing it correctly. Is it not possible to phase these 2 transformers? I have a TMCC engine and do not want to damage it

I am also interested in this as I tried with a pw ZW and a CW 80 and couldn't get it to work. Phasing with the ZW with a Z1000 did seem to work though.

Should work just fine with an original ZW and a CW transformer.
