I am making my own phone poles for the layout. Does anyone know where to get O gauge phone pole transformers? It does not matter what they are made of or if they are painted. Choo Choo Kenny

Keil-Line
Keil Line makes them...white metal castings...p/n 48-133. Through Walthers/dealers this would be 382-48133....currently in stock.
OTOH, lengths of dowel or plastic tubing cut to length, painted, would suffice for moi.
FWIW, always.

I have seen guys use radial capacitors painted grey , and use craft beads on the leads. It looks pretty good
Or you can make them out of brass tubing, an aluminum plug for the top machined in a lathe, Some detail Parts NBW castings, brass wire and seed beads for insulators.

The additional arm with (3) disconnects usually was seen with (3) transformers mounted on a pole, (3 phase) commercial service. (3) Small transformer would be mounted on (2) additional cross arms. More modern, heavy, transformers are mounted on a tri-bracket that still allows one side of the pole for climbing and service of equipment above the transformers.
I can happily recommend Keil-Line and Crow River transformers. I've used both and they are terrific looking.

These are pieces of wooden dowels and plastic auto connectors (I think that is what they are called).
