Was looking at the prices of Pikemaster track on that big auction site. Why are the prices so high? Thought about buying some for a small oval but wow.

That is somewhat surprising since the track for the most part is junk. In addition to the smaller radius that limits what you can run the steel it is made from corrodes easily, That and the inferior track connectors make electrical continuity a problem even on small layouts. I have the a scenic panel set and it suffers from continuity issues.
Major, have you tried Rail-Zip? Or Deox-it? Both of those are supposed to eliminate corrosion.
I actually purchased a bunch of the All Aboard panels at a show today. Here is the train that goes with them.
