Lionel produced the number 58 street lamp for close to twenty-five years, around twenty years prewar and around five years postwar. They used the same model number during the entire run. So if you looked in Greenberg's guides, you would have to look in two separate sections to see the entire story. Interestingly the prewar version is worth about twice as much as the postwar version. There are a few differences. The postwar version was an ivory color, but I would call yours a prewar cream color. The colors are close enough that I would not call it based on color alone. Your light post has feet on the base that clearly places it as a prewar version. Also, where yours has the part number, 58-19, on the bottom, the postwar version has the same part number plus the words "MADE IN U.S. OF AMERICA", "THE LIONEL CORP.", and finally, "NEW YORK".
