I see a pair of wires going from each light bulb to each truck. I also see red wires that appear to be connecting each bulb. What is the purpose of the red wire???
Just take the wires from the trucks (wheels & roller), they are paralleled inside the car. I put a .25A trip PTC between the roller wires to protect the wiring in case of a derailment.
You then tie the power for the LED lighting into the track pickups, and you can do that on either side of the PTC that was added.
You need to keep the wires that go to the wheels and rollers, I don't know what color they are. First step is to pull the sockets out of those holders so you can see how everything is wired. I did a whole fleet of these with LED, but I don't remember wire colors.
