Anyone ever use Polly Scale washes for weathering? I bought a bottle of black acrylic wash and was going to try it to weather a coaling tower I just finished. They don't really give detailed directions. I don't know that I want to use it straight and was thinking of thinning it. Do I use water for thinning? What ratio of paint to thinner if I want it to be a weathering wash. Tnx for any help. Matt

We use like 50:50 water to paint using the acrylic paints from Michaels. The Polly S stuff, for me, is too expensive for washes though I have never seen the item you have shown. Given the advertise it as a wash I would try it straight out of the bottle with a wide brush.
I use nothing but Poly-S, yet I did'nt know they made a "wash". I just took regular Poly-S and deluted it in a small container with water.
I use it as a weathering wash all the time. For spraying I cut it 5 parts Polly Scale clear flat to 1 part color, plus a drop of Windex. For brushing, I use 10 parts water, 1 part paint. Spraying makes an even overall grimy covering, brushing highlights some areas more than others
