I will start with a homemade Rocket and flat car similar to the The Lionel 6407 with the white oversized rocket. My homemade rocket has a homemade Mercury capsule on the tip here.

Another rocket and flat car from my Rocket train. I pick up toy plastic rockets at garage sales. I like to get several of the same type cars make trains of them like Giraffe, coal, tank cars, operating cars, Alumina cars, covered hoppers, space cars, milk cars,etc.

This rocket/missile thread will not be complete without a little US Marines postwar action. This baby saw some serious use in my youth and she still runs like a charm, although the engine rockets now get a little stuck (have to fix that one of these days) , and the best part - neither my brothers nor I lost an eye with it in combat! -
