Hi forum members..  I have a 726 TMCC anniversary Berkshire that I would like to repaint in early Postwar paint.  Or, I may have someone do it for me.  Any advice on where I can buy an accurate paint?

I also have another job.... I have original Madison cars that have trucks that roll rather stiffly.  I have cleaned and oiled them but they're still a load to pull.  They also have the electro couplers that I'd like to remove.  Or... I'd like to simply replace them and hold onto the originals.  Any advice on where I can get suitable replacements?

Also, I'm in the Delaware Valley in Jersey, if someone does this work and wants to contact me about possibly doing the work my email address is in my profile.

Thanks for reading,

John

Henning's Paint is a good and easy to apply. With post war restorations black is black, the difference is in the sheen which varied slightly over the years and changes with age. The "correct" sheen can be pretty subjective. I usually mix my own using Floquil Black mixed with their Flat, Glaze, or Gloss to get the right sheen.

This Williams engine was repainted using Floquil black mixed with a few drops of Glaze.

This 665 was painted using PJ1 Satin black.

You could replace the trucks with the ones used on current Conventional Classic Madisons.

Thanks for the information.  Since I'm pretty clueless where to buy anything, I guess I'll ask where would I purchase the Madison trucks?  The paint can wait, I think I'd like to try it myself.  I have an airbrush but haven't used it in 10 years.  It looks good, clean.

I would like to renumber it to look like an early model.
