Postwar tubular track switch compatibility with other companies

I use Ross in a few locations. You need the adapter pins and I use a 3 mm spacer to even the level. I think you can buy insulator pins but I just leave a small space. They work fine. I am sure I have read atlas and gargraves can also be adapted too. Others with experience will chime in.

RMT(Ready Made) Super Snap & K-Line Super Snap, Ross RossPlate are drop-in compatibles.

Seems like you can mate just about anyone's switch with Lionel tubular track, provided you compensate for difference in height and have the right pins. Are you running any prewar? If so, you'll probably want to stay away from Ross--even their "Rossplate" line. Through the generosity of others on this forum, I learned that these switches aren't truly tinplate-compatible, despite the fact that they are advertised as switches for "all O-Gauge trains." Steve at RCS confirmed with me that his switches aren't going to work well with prewar trains, and I appreciate his honesty. Good luck.

Ross makes Lionel type O gauge switches that mate up to Lionel O track without any adapters or shims

I have used Gargraves switches with most of my trains. Just need adapter pins to go from Gargraves to the other style of tubular track. 

The only problem I have experienced is with MTH engines and Gargraves switches, they derail(steam engines) or shut down(diesels with PS-2 in command mode).

Lionel and Williams engines do fine with Gargraves track and switches.
