Recently I posted a call for help regarding an item I had just bought. I thought it was a postwar #125 whistle shack. I noticed several issues, among them that it did not whistle! Several forumites gave me pointers, among them that there might be a bug or web in the chamber, and that it was in fact a #2125 whistle shack from the first year or so of MPC production.

The problem was this: the double sided tape that held the chamber to the base had come apart, prompting a previous owner to use postal service type packing tape to anchor it back down. What they didn't realize was that the new tape sealed up the two exit holes that make the whistle. I didnt even know they were there!

Well I took the tape off and used new "Foam Tape" to anchor it back to the base. Works like a dream now! Love the growl. Love the ozone. Thank you to all who responded to my post. There is so much experience and know-how here on the forum --- truly a great resource.

Thanks again and take care now.
