Hey forum friends, it has been awhile sice I have posted, new job keeps me busy. I am trying to supply power to my accessories and I would like your advice on how best to do it? Allow me to tell you what I have done and then correct me from there. I purchased a small Atlas O transformer and attached it to a terminal block, then I chained it (16ga wire) to another terminal block on the other side of the layout. My plan is to connect the accessories to the two terminal blocks and then supply power with the Atlas O transformer. I connected it all together, connected one accessory (Lionel Coal Tower), then applied power, and the transformer overload light came on and the coaling tower stayed dark. What is up with that? Next, I replaced the Atlas O with an MTH Z 1000 transformer and a 100 watt brick, applied power and the coaling tower lights up, but the blinking light on the top does not blink, just burns constant. It this a good way to power accessories or is their a better way? My lay out is not big--11X12 in a rectangle with a large opening in the middle, my trains are loopers. Your advice is always spot on, help if you can! God Bless!
