I completed the lower level of my new layout including benchwork, track and switches, and wiring. I just want to announce that when I "flipped-the-switch" everything worked!!! I added an RS-3 (first time using DCS) and even that worked perfectly! I got all "10's" from all 7 power blocks and all 9 switches worked perfectly (although I did have to change a couple of wires for matched switches). As they say "I would rather be lucky than good!!!!" I now need to get used to the handheld DCS control and what it can do. Fascinating!!! I am going to run trains for a day or two before I start the grade going up to the middle level. So far so good!!!!!

Knock on wood and enjoy yourself for the next couple of days. Your on a roll, Congratulations.
My last V8 Vega I completely re did, new near drag racing engine, new fuel system, completely rewired, new ignition system, a million things that could be not right, and it fired right up. I'm very much a amatuer mechanic.
That's a beautiful thing. I call flipping the switch, ' el momente de la verdad'. A bullfighter's saying that means, 'the moment of truth'. I love when stuff works like it's supposed to. Congrats and have fun.
We can't let you off with out requesting to see da' pix' of da; test! Congrats. We are not to the 'layout' wireing stage yet. We have the test leads with alligator clips super wireing job working for now! Keep us posted and please how bout' dem' pix!

(I forgot I had a pix of da' super wireing job!)
Dennis Rempel, You're the 2nd person that I now know who in the mid eighties put a V8 into a Vega. You must be eating up everything at stop lights.
