Does anyone apply the power to the proper closure rail on their switches?  To allow engines and railcars with short distances between rollers to go through switches without losing power.  A relay is needed switch power from one closer rail to the other when the direction of the switch is changed.  Has anyone seen the need to do this?

Thanks,

Carl

Yes, we have power routed Atlas switches.  I had several 072 switches and I had to use them in a passenger yard due to space limitations.  And we even had to shorten the distance between the switches to make them work.  Most of my engines wouldn't run slowly through the switches because there were too many gaps that they lost power.  We used Atlas Non-derail boards to do the electrical portion.
