Hello everybody, have A problem with my Marx 898. The problem I have the the ting is that it only goes in reverse I have tried to get it go forward but it wont go. Has anyone encountered this problem and fixed it please tell me how,it is much appreciated.

Most likely a dirty reverse unit. Not unusual.

Yeah, I've got to say, it's pretty old and has earned its cranky personality. Some guys spray WD-40 or tuner cleaner up into it. Me, I just rock it side to side on the tracks 4 or 5 times. Of course it may or may not go the right way the next time it's powered up.
I either clean the reverse unit with electrical contact cleaner, or for chronic cases..bypass the reversing unit. With those fork or tab couplers I find no little need to reverse them, if ever.
