I see its been over a year since I posted anything, time flies when you're having fun! I've finished most of the plastering I was doing, started ballasting, and finished my electrical work with the design and installation of some Hall effect switch position sensors. Oh yes, and running trains.

Here are a few shots of some of the plastering locations.

My first attempt at ballasting was the Bay Head yards. Tedious, but looks great, and will look even better with some weeds and debris - someday. Lesson learned: I used lightweight ballast, the ground nut shells type. It is so light that it is subject to static electricity and will start zipping around all over when you are trying to lightly brush it into place. Next time try ground granite!

Here are my Hall Effect switch position sensors. The idea came from a post by Ingeniero No 1. I use Honeywell SS443A sensors and D22 magnets from K&J Magnetics. I used Microswitches where I had room, and the Atlas 6924 outputs for others.

Last, but not least, my cat Lucky performs his periodic cat scan...

Grew up relatively close to NY&LB lines. When I was a youngster, my dad would drop my mom and I off at Matawan, and we'd take the train down to Red Bank, where he'd be to pick us up.

Really like what you did with the plan. From your first pic of the Bay Head yards, I thought you were missing something, but when I saw the overall plan, you captured it eloquently.  Very nice job!
