Check with forum member GGG.
From the DCS Meeting; It was announced that PS2 kits will be coming. And tey are working on PS3 Upgrade kits as well, the Pivoting Tender & engine connections are the holdup.
There are a couple forum members that do the upgrades and stock comes and goes.
I've heard rumours that MTH intends to release more kits. When??? FWIW.
I'm still waiting on one, so they haven't been released yet.
Mike, If you are looking for some one to do the upgrade I can. You can contact me via my profile e-mail. G
Here's a place that has 11 of them in stock:

But then you'll have to put it in yourself and download a sound file to make it run.
GGG is a good guy so if you're unable to try it yourself I would recommend him.
I prefer to wait for MTH to ship it to me for $150.

Well, ModelTrainStuff doesn't ship for free either, so the shipping is a wash. It's still $20 cheaper, and I have a bunch of projects piled up, so I can wait...
Geez guys, you're such a tough crowd
The OP just wanted to know where to buy them, he didn't say he wanted the cheapest
Come on Bob, who doesn't want the best deal they can get?
John,
It has been said I will shop around until I find the highest price there is (I wouldn't know a deal if it hit me), but every once in a while I get lucky
All-in-all, the PS2 kits are fairly easy to install, at least in all the engines I've seen. I did have to shoehorn it in my Atlas GP9, but GP9s are pretty slim, even the Lionel GP9 I have is packed full of Legacy stuff (and a HUGE speaker!!!).
The hardest one so far has been the MTH General, I had to do some surgery to fit the tether, and the encoder bracket didn't fit either, so I had to mount the encoder on my own. The tender was pretty small as well, the stock speaker didn't have a chance of fitting with the PS/2 boards, so I had to use an alternate.
Diesels are the easiest as a rule.
Some of the smaller Legacy locomotives are packed to the gills, I wouldn't want to try to cram all that stuff into an update.
I did an SW-8 a couple of years ago. that was a challenging fit.
I wound up having a custom smaller battery pack made up. The normal pack would not fit.

Mike,
I have upgrade kits in stock but not for the club price. If you don't want to wait, give me a call. I can also load the sound file and engine data for you before it gets shipped.
Dave
Having the correct engine name loaded permanently would be worth a few bucks.
If you want a "shoe horn" chanllenge, put a PS2 kits in a Loco Sounds Bantum. The board is the same width as the shell and you have to shorten the heat sink to fit it between the smkoe unit and the can motor. I also had to shorten the tender weight to get the speaker ans battery and the rest of the parts in shell.

Common Bob, Just truth in advertising. In reality with shipping it cost about $161-162 maybe more. If you order several you may save, but sometimes they still ship individually. So when a dealer sells it for $180, that is a pretty small margin at 12% or less, plus Dave is going to load the sound file with a serial file and permanent name. All for $18 or so. Not so bad:-) G
I agree the permanent name is worth some effort. And yes, MTH seems to ship the kits individually, of course they've never had both steam and diesel in stock at the same time, and that seems to be the way I order them.
Side Track Hobbies has several steam and diesel PS-2 upgrade kits. I don't know the price.
Ron
There is one on E bay right now.

It'll go for more than retail. Actually, there is a steam and diesel one by two different sellers.
