proto 48 and NMRA O scale wheel

here is something you dont see often. this is a sunset models tender truck that kept derailing. take a close look and you can see why. a proto 48 wheel and a NMRA O scale wheel all on the same axle.

Figures... even with Proto48 standards and the NMRA scale wheel standards you still can't please everybody!

Is that wheelset in gauge? If so it should not matter. I have a couple of cars that have narrow-tread wheels and they gave no problems. It may be an optical disillusion, but the axles do not look in tram.
