I will be soon modeling NS, CSX, and CR in the Buffalo, Ny area and I want to have signals on my layout. I have already made the decision to go with Custom Signals. But I don't know what type of signals to look for. I will be using a simple CTC system with one siding. What would be the most prototypical signals to use? G-types?

Why not ask Custom Signals? Explain to them what you are trying to model, and I'm sure they will be more than glade to assist you.

Well, I guess I didnt think of that!
You need to ask yourself what time are you modeling. I believe currently csx is updating to the three color signal. Conrail was slowly switching to the g-type signal and color prr signals.
