I have a SD50 diesel 20-2577-1 that was a PS2 and was upgraded with a PS3 diesel upgrade kit.  I have been running this for quite a while and all functions and operations work.  The one thing peculiar about the engine is it will not operate my auto derail switches or crossing gates where the two outer wheels make the connection. The original engine said it was 3-raile/2-rail conversion capable.

I checked continuity between outside wheels and there is none. There is continuity between a metal strap on bottom of truck and one wheel. There is a single slide switch (it says DCS polarity) that when I move to other position, it switches the continuity between the metal strap and the wheel on the opposite side. I suspect this is related to 2-rail operation. In reading the upgrade installation manual on page 14, it talks about a switch that you could jumper if you are only going to use DCS or conventional. Don't know if that is same switch but I only see the one switch.  I have only run the engine with the switch in the original position; I could move the switch to other position and try but concerned I could do some damage to board. Before I try with switch moved or jumper, wanted to check here to see if this makes sense or if a risk to board.
