Ok, trash vs treasure.

Replaced a really nice window blind. Slats are 2 inched wide, maybe 24 to 30 inches long and, 1/8 of an inch. This seems like a good material to build with. Has anyone thought this or used this material to build with? What did you build? Seems easy to cut, all uniform shape and size to start.

Are the slats flat? I'm picturing the slightly curved slats.

All flat, all uniform in size.

Well I never built with any material like that but I bet you could use it. If you can cut it straight enough, wood planks are the first thing that comes to mind I'm not sure how that stuff reacts to being painted though.

You could also use them for under track shims, or sheets of flat steel on flatcars.

I kept a whole bundle of extra wooden flat slats, haven't used them yet, but I figured they might come in useful.
