Soon I'll be needing 100 or so figures and I see I can get 100 unpainted from MTH for a good price. I have  Arttista and Preiser so for what I would be paying I wouldn't expect a whole lot of detail. I've already tried the Wehonest stuff and wish I would have kept my $5.

I've never painted figures but I would think once you get a system going it goes pretty fast.

Thanks

If you set up an assembly line system that lets you pick each up, paint a bit of a color, set it down, move to the next with all your paints set up, it helps - by the time you are at the one end you can go back to the beginning and add the next color(s) if you are using paint like Polly Scale.

Fast?  Well, no.  But is can be made less painful. Helps to have a comfy chair and some good music and good lighting.

Joe,

Painting figures is mind numbingly boring.

Those unpainted figures are OK for passenger car interiors but be prepared to spend some time.

Ditto

I painted about 10 of the 120 in the bag.  Moved on to other projects.   I should sell the remainder.

Beep people and Golden Gate Depot Little people are good choices for passenger cars, though you may need to amputate legs to fit them.  IMO they are neither detailed nor interesting enough to be outside cars and buildings.  Out in the open I use Arttista, Woodland Scenics, Bachmann, and Preiser.

Sat radio Classic Vinyl plays 24/7 here much to the dislike of some family members but then again it is my house. I'll give it a shot. Wouldn't be the first time I wasted money and time is not an issue except for how much is left

I bought a bag to use in my Railking passenger cars.  I don't mind sitting and painting (I listen to sports talk and that helps me).  I knew what I was getting into so it didn't bother me in the least.

I did exactly what MWB stated.  I started with just one color and painted as many figures as I chose to using that one color.  Let things dry, then used a 2nd color and did the same - painted all the figures that I wanted to have that color.  Etc until done.

BTW: they are undersized like Arttista ones are, which didn't bother me since used in a passenger car - I had to cut the legs off the sitting figures to use them in the passenger car seats but the fact that they were a bit undersized turned out to be a benefit as their height was a nice size matched to the cars' windows.
