I have a question about the Lionel forklift operator figures.

I have a reissued, purchased new #264 Lumber Forklift platform that came with the correct loader figure - he has a small extension on his back to plug into the hole in the seat on the lift.

I have a reissued, purchased new Oil Drum Loader platform that I run on the same layout.  It appears to have the same forklift operator as the 264 with an extension on his back to plug into the seat, but the hole in the drum loader forklift is in the bottom of the seat, not on the back.  Hence, the guy never sits in the seat right and flies off at random times, usually then getting hit by his own forklift and derailing the works.

I opened both of the packages on these so I know they weren't switched accidentally or on purpose.

Is there supposed to be a separate forklift driver with an extension in the proper place to "click" into the seat to avoid this problem?

I have the American Flyer Drum loader and the little guy is held in place by a rectangular nub on the seat not the back.  I also have the reissue of the 264 and it appears to be held in by the seat too.  The back of the seat on the 264 looks like it is to thin to have a nub go into it.  I didn't want to pry the guy off the seat to confirm this.  Hope this helps.
