Need to construct something in a hurry for a halloween project. Will pink foam take spray paint, or is it latex only?

Most spray paints will melt pink foam, depending on the thickness of the application. This is not always a bad thing. I routinely use a light coating of spray paint as a kind of weathering. The slight melting softens edges and is a very good way to simulate badly weathered surfaces, such as old concrete.
It will not handle spray paint, unless you use latex as a primer coat.

Latex it first. Then you can use just about anything. If your plan is to spray it, then use a fairly thick latex paint like Killz primer. The spray will find any spot you miss and eat it. So make sure you dont see any pink through the base coat.
