The only power restriction on the Z-1000 controller is 6 amps maximum, well above the Z-750 brick's 3.75 amp output. However, a Z-1000 brick only outputs a maximum of 18 volts vs the Z-750 brick's 24 volts.
Because of the much higher voltage of the Z-750 brick, will there be any issue using it with the Z-1000 controller?

There was a similar question asked in a topic about the Z-750 bricks some time ago. I remember some stating concerns when using the 24 Volt Z-750 with Lionel Lion Chief engines. To make it even more confusing, later Z-750 bricks are rated at 3.75 amps at 21 volts vs. 24 volts.
I don't think the Z-Controller is the issue, but using that with Lionel locomotives may be problematic as they specify 19 volts maximum voltage.

Thanks for the input. I've thought about blocking the controller's lever to prevent it from going above 16-18 volts, which would solve any issue with the old Z-750 brick. This is going to be my test track power. The original Z-1000 brick is being used for accessory power, mainly the DZ-2500s.
I bought the Z-750 brick at a meet and I would hate to waste it. Until I bought it, I did not know there were different types of Z-750 bricks.
