Reviewed the very informative Clem Notes from York website.  Want to verify what in the halls, although we will be there Thursday to Saturday noon, so will probably get to see everything at least once, but want to hit ground running rather than meander and miss "THE DEAL"  .

Orange and Purple are Dealers, so if I want a mint off the boat "toy" these are the halls to visit.  If my new toy breaks I have best chance of repair, exchange, refund I believe (erroneously?)

White, Red, Blue , Silver are Members halls  non-dealers to buy,sell, trade trains.  Visit here to buy an item but Caveat emptor I assume, though I have not read any bad deals or ripoffs.  Any particular hall order from best bet(s) to not worth the walk?

Black hall are layouts only?

Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces at least from the OGR avatars.

Thanks for your help for a first timer.

These are just my observations from over the years of attending   ;

Silver hall - This is the main hall ,as registration ,lost and found  and info for the next national meet are located here . You can also check your ticket number against the list on the wall to see if you are a door prize winner.

The findings in the Silver , Red ,White and Blue halls are very similar , which are any item ,  train related ,  in any scale . These halls do favor O - Scale and to a slightly lessor degree , S-scale. Standard gauge brings up the rear and you will find some HO and smaller scales .  You will even come across some antique toys  and railroad memorabilia . In my opinion , the Red hall has the most in the way of mint original boxed items . It also has the narrowest isles that seem to be forever being blocked by old friends having a reunion in the middle of the isles . Be sure and follow the arrows on the floor in these halls ,it does help maintain the flow .  The white hall seems to me to be where the newer sellers are set up . It also has several operating layouts and should not be missed . The black hall is strictly for operating layouts and should also not be missed.   There are test tracks set up in every hall , so if you do happen to purchase an engine , you can check it out and save some of that Caveat Emptor stuff !  There is no particular hall order in which to do this . Just pick one out and dive in . You'll be an old -pro  in about ten minutes , that's if you can put your eye balls back after they have popped-out after seeing what lays in front of you .

 I sincerely hope that your first time is magical for you and that you will tell us all about it when you get home .

  Jim
