If i set it to 10 mph it accelerates too fast. I was hoping for a smooth transition like my boost and brake commands which are 1(acc rate) and 2(dec rate) respectively.I am still using 4.20. Will 4.30 help?

I believe it's the same?
The consist needs it's accel. and deccel. commands set as well, if you're running as a consist. I'm sure you know that one.
I usually start out a train with the thumbwheel to at least 3 to 5 MPH, then set the quick speed from there after the slack has run out.
I have a PS/3 SD70ACe on the test track right now, the QuickSet adheres to the ACC and DEC rates when I use it. I changed from 1 to 10 for each, huge difference in the starting and stopping times.
I believe Joe is correct if you setup an MU config.
I will say that the settings don't really work to scale, when I have it set to 1, it should take 55 seconds to reach a set speed of 55, it's more like about a fourth of that time to reach full speed. From 55 to stop (it's easy to check), it took 14 seconds after I hit the command for zero.

Well it seems one remote has quick set and my other does not..looked in menu and cant seem to find it.
Menu, System, Remote Setup, Quickset Speed.
That allows you to turn on or off the Quickset feature.

thanks..i wonder if 4.31 will offer quickset acc rate that mirrors boost ?
Hard to say, but Barry keeps telling us that we can't ask about 4.31, so you're risking incurring his wrath asking about it.
Wrath!
Guns,
Now that I know how to get at Barry, I will have to start asking all kinds of foolish nonsensical questions, got to give him something to due in his spare time on board the ship cruses!
