I have been working on a GarGraves track library, I would like some feedback from my fellow Mac users.
Thank you very much.

Mac User here and will welcome GarGraves (and any expansion to the Ross track library (#4/6/8 switches especially)) - thank you!! I am trying to import the GG track library, but as a noobie to RailModeller, not sure how to do it. Does there need to be a specific filename extension added?
should just need to copy it into the railset folder, o gauge, track subfolder

Hello Darrell,
I am very anxious to use your gargraves track library, but when I drop it into the railset folder it doesn't seem to recognize it as a rail set. I can open it with a text editor but neither the railmodeller nor the railset editor seem to recognize the file. I have dropped other railsets into the railmodeller track folder and it worked. I must be doing something wrong with your file. Any advice on how to get it to work?
Thanks Barry
What version of Rail modeller do you have?

Just installed 4.1.6. The program works fine, but won't recognize your file. I moved a track file I had created with early versions into this version and they work fine. I am wondering if when I download the file, it seems my mac which is running 10.8.2 keeps thinking it is some kind of text document. I have gone into the file info box and tried to force its association with rail modeller but that is not working either. I also tried to import it into rail set editor but it won't recognize the file.
Sounds like its losing the metadata somewhere in the upload/download process.
Metadata was being lost, this file should work much better :-)

Yes this solved the problem. Dropped the unzipped file into the track subfolder and it worked great! Thanks Darrell for sharing your Gargraves track file.
Indeed - works perfect now - thanks!
Darrell,
Whoot! Thanks for making a library for RailModeller. Been looking for a while for one for seemingly forever and haven't the time to start making one from scratch. Makes short work now out of planning a layout for both me and and a friend of mine.
If you don't mind, I've done some modifications to your Gargraves track library while using it. Mostly, I've differentiated a little better between the straights and flex track for wood ties vs plastic ties, added a 90 crossover, operating and uncoupling track sections, terminal track sections, and bumper sections.
Hope you and others like it!

Will need to zip the file first before uploading, it is losing its metadata and won't open in rail modeller
Here it is zipped.
Thanks! Now I just need feedback so I know what needs to be tweaked. I really would like to know how close I came with the curve tracks, I don't actually own any GarGraves track to compare to...
Hi Darrell,
If it's of any help for you, so far I've been able to help a friend new to the hobby to make a track layout for his upcoming project using a mix of both your Gargraves library and Railmodeller's included Ross library together with no real issues so far.
Will hopefully begin helping him to lay his track down in the next couple weeks.
My only real complaint with Railmodeller is that it's lousy at calculating how much flex track is really needed when short pieces are cut to make up differences for connecting "S" curves, and filling in small gaps that sometimes come up when making a layout.
Please keep me updated too as to how you make out with the library when you make any changes too. Very interested and want to keep the latest files as they're updated.
It's extremely nice to know someone is working on a Gargraves library after years without one. Again, Thanks for your work!
