since most anything involving wiring always seems to be a challenge for me I am looking for some help hooking up a pair of Railking Crossing Flashers w/sound. I want to use the ITAD device with power from an auvillary powertblock. I have the two flashers across from a double track and my intent was to use one activation device ( that may be a problem..not sure ) I have the aux.power connected to the input side of the ITAD with rocker switch set to auxillary.  The ITAD device is connected to track side. I have the RED wire from both signals and the RED wire from sound speaker all connected with crimp style connector to the the  "common"  connection on ITAD. The BLACK wires from both signals & sound speaker to  "NO" on the ITAD. When I turn on power to my layout both flashers come on automatically and the sound bells chime away. All this is going on with no train running on either track. Can anyone suggest where I have gone wrong? Could it be that something is not right with the ITAD device connection to track? I would certainly appreciate any help as I have several such signals to include on other areas on the layout. Thanks  Dan

Are you in a bright room or near a window?  The ITAD may be triggering from ambient light (as opposed to from the reflection of a passing train).  As a quick test darken the room and wait up to 15 seconds (ITAD has a time delay) and see if the crossing turns off.  If it turns off, you need to adjust the Range Sensitivity setting.  You may also need to fabricate a "window awning" or similar hood over the red sensor window on the ITAD so ambient light does not trigger the sensor.  The Delay Time setting separately adjusts how long the crossing signals stay on after the train passes.
