A little help with two things

would like to replicate Rcs controller on a control panel to save space - what toggles and/or push buttons do I need?  Does someone have a schematic?

also in one of Riddle's books I saw the idea of using aluminum ground wire to add the extra rails that are part of an red and ucs - have people had good success with this method?

i am using all post war conventional gear.

thanks so much

Attached is a sketch for a UCS.  If using an RCS, ignore the reference to the electromagnet.  Note that you use SPDT pushbuttons or spring loaded toggles.  Note also this leaves ground on the service rails, which should not be a problem.

Note that on a UCS, one service rail is internally connected to the electromagnet.  Wiring as shown assures that the magnet is not activated when unloading.

In lieu of aluminum wire, and depending on the track you are using, you could use Gargraves or Ross rails that are sold separately.  These are the GG rails--just scroll down to p/ns 810-8 and 810-12.  When I had my primary layout, I used either the GG or Ross rails (can't remember which) for creating the RCS function.
