Remote backup issue

I tried doing a search on this topic but didn't come up with anything conclusive.

I am trying to backup my remote which I have done prior to this attempt without any problems. When I hook everything up I do a com port search and my PC (Windows XP) with Loader 5.0 and it does indeed find the TIU. My remote displays the letter (T) so I assume the remote and TIU have a connection. When I go through the sequence to start the backup I get a message that it can't find the TIU on the same port that told me a had a connection.

Any ideas?

Did you follow instructions to insert a 4-conductor telephone handset (curly) cable between the ProtoCast and ProtoDispatch ports?

4-conductor phone cord into a 3.5mm port?? Talk about putting a square peg into a round hole!
