I'm contemplating replacing the 65-watt incandescent floods over my layout with dimmable CFL floods. I see on package that it can interfere with communication equipment operating in 0.45-30 MHz range. What frequency does remote-TIU communications use? ANd has anyone experienced fluorescent lighting interfering with those communications?

900 MHz
I have regular fluorescent tube lights over head and experience no communication problems.
Robert,
Joe's experiences echo mine exactly.
I have never had any problems with lighting interfering and I've used a lot of different types in my basement and garage. I've gone from regular bulbs to fluorescents, CFL's, and now LED's.
Just today I got some error messages like out of range and engine not on track. It actually was just a stubborn engine flawed by a dead battery. The system was working flawless with the rest of my engines.
Those messages creep up to show there's a problem only. Not always pointing in the right direction.
Thankd, y'all. I want to reduce my 1.1kw lighting load.
Holly ....
when did I get promoted to Engineer.
I used to be Enginear-Joe.
Someone must have complained??
I switched from incandescent PAR-30 floodlights to dimmable CFL PAR-30 floodlights, replacing the dimmers with CFL--capable ones. After an hour, I switched back. The hum when dimmed is annoying. We often run in dim light and the noise is bothersome

I had a fluorescent fixture that hummed real bad. That one had to go too.
If you want to save money, you have to try the LEDs!
Too pricey and for some reason light from a bright led hurts my eyes. Maybe too concentrated a source.
You can get LED's in various color temperatures, I'm moving away from florescent lighting. I found the 4 foot tube LED replacements for $15/ea, and they'll still be working when I'm pushing up daisy's! My experience with dimmable CFL has been very poor, dimmable LED bulbs are in many of my fixtures now.
